I believe that an essential element to therapy is building a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can feel seen and understood. When working with couples, I embrace an experiential approach that is at it’s core, relational and focused on understanding. Utilizing an emotion focused therapy approach, I concentrate on healing attachment injuries and assisting clients in understanding their own unmet needs and those of their partners’. I strongly believe in the importance of building rapport and understanding the perspectives of both partners to assist them in communicating their needs to one another.
In my work with individuals, I continue to utilize an attachment centered perspective. I combine insight focused approaches, such as narrative, emotion focused individual therapy, and internal family systems (IFS) with other mindfulness-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment therapy. I believe it is helpful to understand one’s past in order to gain deeper insight, self-awareness, and healing…But ultimately, my goal is to help clients shape a new present and future.
When beginning therapy with me, I hope to create an environment that is warm and authentic. My goal is to cultivate a setting that fosters openness and self-reflection. Therapy is a journey of discovery, and I am humbled to be entrusted to accompany my clients on their path.
