Hello! I know from experience how hard it is to take the first step in finding a counselor, so I congratulate you on your efforts thus far. My counseling style is Person-Centered, which focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship through empathy. I aspire to provide trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ positive, culturally humble, and holistic care to help you reach your goals and progress at your own pace. I believe you are the expert on you, and I will follow your lead and provide guidance on your journey to self-discovery and healing.
I aspire to make people of all ages feel safe being their authentic selves, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with you or your child. Before pursuing a counseling career, I worked in the corporate world for a decade. This experience helped me understand the role that values, purpose, and meaning can play in someone’s life and what can happen when they are not aligned. I am a mother to two preschoolers. This has ignited a passion for working with children, adolescents, parents, and aspiring parents. I hope to encourage, inspire, and build confidence in children and parents alike.
When working with children, I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy in which the child leads the way. I believe that toys are children's words and play is their language. I do not use play to get the child to talk, play IS the therapy. I also meet with parents frequently to check in and provide resources and techniques to use at home to increase the child-parent connection. It would be an honor to walk with you and your child through their healing process.
Whether you are seeking counseling for yourself or your child, I look forward to getting to know you and providing a safe space for self-exploration, healing, and growth.
